- Tar Heels Sweep Lady Bison
The Tar Heels swept Lipscomb 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-18) Saturday to close out play at the Kentucky Classic. Freshman Paige Neunfeldt had ten kills and contributed nine of UNC's 15 team blocks, as Carolina cruised past Lipscomb in their second game of the day.
- UNC Downs Long Beach State 3-2
The UNC volleyball team defeated Long Beach State 3-2 (23-25, 25-22, 25-14, 22-25, 15-12) Saturday at Memorial Coliseum. Senior Emily McGee recorded her first double-double of the season, leading the Tar Heels with 10 kills and 22 digs, while junior Kayla Berringer tallied 17 kills and sophomore Ece Taner added 28 digs as Carolina finished with a .262 attacking percentage over the 49ers' .170.
- Carolina Drops Opener To Kentucky
North Carolina dropped their season opener and match one of the University of Kentucky Classic, as the Wildcats won 3-0 Friday at Memorial Coliseum. Senior Emily McGee tallied 10 kills and nine digs, and freshman Jordyn Schnabl added 25 assists with four kills and three digs in the Tar Heel loss.
